KOS
Situated in the South Eastern Aegean Sea, Kos is the third largest in the Dodecanese and has a reputation for being the most temperate place in the world. The island has been important nautically since prehistoric times and is the birthplace of the father of medicine, Hippocrates, who was born there around 460BC. The circumnavigation of Kos measures 60 nautical miles and has some of the best pleasure boating Europe has to offer.

In May 2001 the Marina of Kos Island was officially opened. Situated next to the old harbour at the very heart of the Dodecanese it offers the very best quality marine and leisure services to guests. There are plentiful births and a full range of marine services including pilot speedboat, bilge pump outing, waste oil disposal, fuel station, WC and showers as well as conference facilities and guest suits.

Kos itself is a place of many legends, a land steeped in the countries rich mythology. This can all be experienced at the fabulous choice of museums, galleries and archaeological sites dotted around the island. For those wanting to relax there are some of the finest beaches in the world, ranging from the sheltered fishing bay at Limnionas to the jaw dropping Paradise Beach (they don’t call it that for nothing). Kos town centre is vibrant, colourful and friendly with a vast choice of bars, cafes and restaurants serving traditional local food and wines. The evenings in Kos (or anywhere on the island for that matter) have an air of mystery and magic. To say Kos is a place of romance is an understatement.

Whatever you are looking for from your holiday in the sun, great beaches, leisure activities, superb sailing and water-sports, fine food and nightlife or a simple relaxing family break, Kos is virtually unbeatable on all levels. But been warned, once you have drank in the beauty of this wonderful island you will remain under its spell for the rest of your life.

Visited " Louis restaurant " three times now with family . Busy restaurant but standards are very consistent . I had steak three times and cooked to perfection all three times . No complaints from my family . We should experience other restaurants but very happy with LOUIS and don't want to be disappointed with any other meal . Plus it's location is perfect . Nick the fisherman restaurant . Doesn't look the nicest restaurant in Kos but I assure you this is by far the best seafood restaurant in Kos and I personally not been a better one . Sat there for hours eating shellfish , Octopus and fish all washed down with lots of ouzo . Best night of our holiday . Was told by the owner to relax and enjoy and we certainly did. Top top marks . 10/10

If you to get away from the madness of idiots on Kos beach please go to Agios Fokas beach . They have everything you would want from a beach bar without the drunken idiots !! The experience was terrible. A rude waiter kept pushing my back when he was passing behind me while we were patiently waiting to be seated. When I kindly asked him to stop he rudely replied that I was disturbing him and we should wait at the yard - one level below, to let him do his job!!! No one from the staff apologized for this behavior and we were finally guided to a table at the back corner - despite our reservation- which was left with the litter of the previous clients.
The place is touristic and dirty - toilets were dirty without any kind of paper
There are several other places which are more genuine and the staff is honestly polite.

We are staying in the Kipriotis hotel which is very nice . But yesterday took a day on the beach and went to Agios Fokas each . Perfect beach , little more mature . No trance music blaring out and no groups of young tourists getting drunk , loud or sick . Agios Fokas will give you great food , nicely made drinks and in a number of lovely seating areas . We will try return before we leave but thank you for the help . We was very happy with Agios Fokas beach .

Arap restaurant yesterday was nice , it was very low in price also. Huge plates also . Something I don't like but I didn't eat starter as I usually would .the Greek plate here is meat galore . Thanks

Food in Kos very same same . Never had a outstanding meal until we went to Platanos . We should of looked on your site earlier . Platanos cuisine was by far the best meal we had in Kos , but there wasn't much competition if honest . Had some poor food in Kos this year . Had a great meal in Nick the Fisherman though. It's on the beach road in Kos town . Busy place with locals . Not a fancy place by any means to look at but the food was the best we eat in Kos. Fish and octopus were great . Didn't over complicate with to many ingredients and let the produce do the work l fresh seafood at high standard and not expensive , nick the fisherman was great thanks very much .

We holidayed in Kos last summer and visited two restaurants we seen on your site...firstly Petrino ...we loved it there..Meze restaurant. Great food & wine ..we will go again when we return ..we also visited Nick the fisherman restaurant ..very basic looking in regards to decor but we enjoyed a fabulous meal there..we was made to feel very wanted without being over the top..the seafood was the best we had in Kos..we had the impression the locals frequent this restaurant and wasnt to touristy . Kos Restaurants , we had the best seafood at Barbouni in the summer . We been to Kos several times and know the restaurants pretty well . This is a welcoming change . Kos needs more of this kind of modern cuisine , we ate some fantastic sea bass and some calamari was exceptional . Also the staff seem very experienced and knowledgeable . Thank you for your help .

Hello , we looked in your guide in July . We wasn't sailing but do in UK . Needed some help with restaurants . We went to Petrino meze which was brilliant . We also went to Arap restaurant , in the Turkish village . It was not very fancy but the food was very good . We then chose to go to Zia for a day out . This was a great experience in the mountains . Amazing views worth the visit alone . All set in a amazing village . We also chose to go to Oromidon restaurant for a light meal . It was ok , had better and had worse . Kos restaurants . We was in Kos n August . Not sailing . Stayed in Lambi . Our hotels food was extremely poor and was slowly ruining our holiday as was all inclusive . We looked on your web site and we decided to go to Barbouni . Fantastic restaurant . Really lifted our spirits . Directly on the beach we enjoyed some fantastic seafood . All in a very contemporary surroundings . House wine was extremely good for very little money . The food was vell well cooked without being complicated . All with a modern element . We was in Kos maybe around a month ago. We used your site for various purposes. We did go to a couple of the restaurants that you feature. Firstly we went to Nick the fisherman as my husbands love for all sea food. A very traditional restaurant with no special attention to decor. Very basic but the food was just marvellous . It had a very special atmosphere as the staff seemed all honestly very happy and the seemed enthused with offering good fresh food. Good produce cooked simply thus not spoiling the food. Fresh . It was priced as it would be in England . Very happy with it. Thanks. Second restaurant we chose was Petrino . This was again very very good. Beautiful restaurant inside and outside in the garden. We not sailing this year but find your guide easier to get a restaurant of good taste than using trip advisor..we went to nick the fisherman...funny guy. Well we had the usual salad wine and see food .. Good place for people watching as its in the beach road ...Seems a popular place for locals and that for me is always a good sign. Thanks

Yesterday we went to try Arap restaurant in the Turkish village..struggle to find it as its so small..drove past three times..haha. I must say the restaurant is very basic looking. Typical in Greece, but the food was very good. Simple and very fresh tasting.... And it was busy with locals so that's always a good sign. Been to a couple of your restaurants you promote and have been very impressed. Last night we visited barbouni , that's was as good a meal we have enjoyed in all our time in Greece. Top seafood with very nice surroundings. On the coast. Not expensive at all.

We also went to Petrino. Difficult to find but love the building and the garden. We had he the Greek meze and was not rushed so enjoyed very much. Good wine list too which is rare in Greece. Thank you very much for your guide.i don't usually write comments but was impressed. Thank you. C

We enjoyed two meals from your kos page yesterday. We we to Select restaurant in the town which was very pleasant. Next to the ruins and great spot to people watch in the shade under the trees..last night after reading some of your previous comments we went to Barbouni...how long has this restaurant been there?? It was fantastic and in a great setting on the beach...we have been coming to kos many years and this restaurant I rate as good as anyone other. The experience was terrible. A rude waiter kept pushing my back when he was passing behind me while we were patiently waiting to be seated. When I kindly asked him to stop he rudely replied that I was disturbing him and we should wait at the yard - one level below, to let him do his job!!! No one from the staff apologized for this behavior and we were finally guided to a table at the back corner - despite our reservation- which was left with the litter of the previous clients.
The place is touristic and dirty - toilets were dirty without any kind of paper
There are several other places which are more genuine and the staff is honestly polite.

Zia is a small village located on the Dikaion mountain. Here exists the oldest water mill in the Kos. The main feature that makes this village so nice is it's atmosphere. There are many small shops where you can buy typical thyme honey, olive oil with chilli peppers, olive soap etc. They offer you to taste thyme honey in some shops as well, you would be given a straw for tasting it.

KOS DIVERS diving center founded on 2003 by three young divers Kostas, Kalle and Mattias who started out diving for fun and then found that we enjoyed it so much that we wanted to turn it into our career. We are some of the few lucky people who make a job what we love...
Kostas is running KOS DIVERS now with the same love for the sea and diving, keeping the magic of the underwater world alive for new divers.
In KOS DIVERS we try to remember why we got into diving and make sure that we keep our enthusiasm for sharing the wonders of the underwater world with others and maybe change their life...!

We are a diving center in Kos, which is one of the Dodecanese islands in Greece. There are three stands to our business: Padi diving center, lifeguards training and commercial diving services.

The majority of our time is spent on recreational diving courses. With us you can take PADI courses which are accepted all over the world. PADI stands for Professional Association of Diving Instructors and is the largest diving association in the world.
By choosing a PADI course, you can be sure you are getting the highest standard of knowledge and instructors, as well as the best course manuals and diving equipment.
